Julie Lucier, CPA

Finance Director
Maria

After more than 25 years as an external auditor, Julie begins a new chapter at MMBC in 2026 as Finance Director. Before earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sherbrooke University and obtaining the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, she interned at Foreign Affairs Canada in Ottawa during her university studies. She then worked at accounting firms in Sherbrooke and Slave Lake, Alberta, before returning to her roots in Maria in 1999 to join Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton in New Richmond, where she climbed the ranks to become a partner in 2018. Specializing in the public sector, non-profit organizations, and private companies, she managed numerous projects related to Mi’gmaq communities in Gesgapegiag and Listuguj. A proud mother of two sons, she was raised in French and learned English with friends in Cascapedia during her childhood, and she is eager to learn more Mi’gmaq words. Her expertise and interest in the growth of regional organizations and community well-being guided her to MMBC.
