What this opportunity could offer

The Quebec government has announced a third offensive of trade training programs. Many of these trades are directly related to construction and operations tied to wind power development in Gespe'gewa'gi. Working alongside partners such as our local training centres and First Nations Adult Education, MMBC is exploring how these programs can be brought closer to communities in Gespe’gewa’gi.

Why it matters for our communities

Surveyors, crane operators, construction equipment operators, electricians, and other skilled tradespeople will be essential to the construction and maintenance of wind projects. Planning now with employment and training centres will help ensure that community members are ready to step into these roles as opportunities arise.

How to express interest

These trainings are still in the planning and coordination phase. Community members interested in these trades are encouraged to contact their local employment and training centre in Gespe’gewa’gi so partners can better gauge demand and plan future programming.
