Summary

A series of youth-focused activities to help students, teachers, and families learn about renewable energy and careers in wind. We also offer tours for others, such as Indigenous communities interested in learning how to enter the wind energy sector for their own communities.

Quick Facts

Audience: Youth, teachers, and parents

Format: Classroom talks, site visits, info sessions (under development)

Open to members of Gesgapegiag, Gespeg, and Listuguj. We also offer general info sessions on wind energy and careers in this field to others outside the communities.

What this initiative aims to offer:

MMBC is developing youth engagement activities designed to introduce students and families to renewable energy. The goal is to make it easier for teachers and parents to connect youth with information about wind power, trades, and other related career paths.

Who it’s for:

(1) This initiative is intended for a wide audience, including teachers seeking classroom content, parents supporting their children’s future, and youth curious about how wind projects work in Gespe’gewa’gi.

(2) Other Indigenous communities that want to learn more about developing a wind project for their own communities.

(3) We are also willing to assist non-Indigenous partners who would like to visit our wind project and learn more.

How to get involved:

Teachers and parents who would like to be notified when youth engagement opportunities are available can contact Kirt to express interest at kdedam@mmcorporation.ca.
