GESGAPEGIAG, Gespe’gewa’gi, April 16, 2026 - Mi'gmawei Mawiomi Business Corporation (MMBC) and PEC Enterprises Inc. jointly announce the launch of Mawitu’gw, a civil engineering and infrastructure company co-owned by Mi’gmaq and non-Mi’gmaq partners, created through their partnership to plan, deliver, and manage infrastructure work in Gespe’gewa’gi.
Mawitu’gw builds on an existing working relationship on the territory and provides a clear structure for how both organizations will carry out projects together. The company reflects a practical approach to working side by side and continuing to move projects forward in Gespe’gewa’gi.
The company will focus on civil infrastructure and energy-related work, supporting projects from planning through to construction and completion. Its work is intended to create employment, build local capacity, and support long-term economic development within Mi’gmaq communities.
